Commanded by a newly-arrived, unstable CO with a shady past, Captain Vandermann, it heads into battle.

: “ Second Chances ” Written by Brett “Skywalker” Aspel As peace finally comes at hand, the Union of Border Worlds decides to split apart one of its most closely-knit squadrons: the Taipans. However, through the needs of the Battle Group Valkyrie, the battle-ready squadron may not be completely torn asunder.

: “ Angels Walk Amongst Men ” Written by Mikhael “Seeker ” Beattie On the BWS Freedom, a squadron falls under new leadership from an unlikely pilot as the Black Angels Squadron join Battle Group Valkyrie.

: “ Call to Arms, ” Part 1 of 2 Written by Erik Martin A war-torn Marine fighter veteran for the Border Worlds oversees the coordination of his squadron, tries to bury ghosts of his horrifying past, and is given some unexpected news...

: “ Eternal Vigilance ” Written by Yu Fei “Phalanx” Leung Phalanx, a battle-weary pilot who’s lost a friend, only wants to rest awhile at his home among the Border Worlds. However, Rear Admiral Hanton of the Battle Group Valkyrie (before leaving for the Landreich) interrupts his leave, dragging him back into galactic conflict.

: “ Call to Arms, ” Part 2 of 2 Written by Erik Martin In late December, 2680, and early January, 2681, veteran military officers of the Union of Border Worlds, after a brief time of peace, unite to form the Battle Group Valkyrie in preparation for galactic aggression.

: “ With Friends like These. . . ” Written by Brett “Skywalker” Aspel Set on January 14th, 2681, as Battle Group Valkyrie is just a couple of days out of the Landreich. A few Confed liaison pilots join up with the group. Things don’t prove to work out quite as planned.

: “ Joining the Fold ”  [   INTERLUDE   ]  Written by Brandon “Darksabre” McKown Set on January 22nd & 25th, 2681. 2nd Lieutenants Lance Casey and Max "Maestro" Garrett arrive fresh from the Academy and Flight School on the Midway-class heavy fleet carrier TCS Midway (CVX-01 / CV-80) in the Nephele System in the veritable calm before the storm on the frontier.

: “ Opening Moves ” Written by Dan “Death” Poore Set on January 25th, 2681. An Alien (Intell codename : "Nephilim") fleet rips into the Tartarus System well within Border Worlds space, destroying the Confed carrier TCS Saratoga (CV-47) and her battle group.

: “ Mad God’s Rage ” Written by Rajan “Raptor” Ragupathy Set on January 27th, 2681. The Nephilim hit Dakota, carrying out an onslaught of genocidal proportions by wiping out the colonies there. At last, Confed begins getting its act together.

: “ Casualties of War ” Written by Alex “Ninja” Crisologo A few of the transports that flee the Dakota System are rescued by the Confed 1st Torpedo Boat Squadron.

: “ Komm süsser Tod, ” Part 1 of 2 Written by Kevin “Leeloo” Tan Reaffirming its strong presence in the Vega Sector, the Tanfen Corp tries to understand and react to the threat.

: “ Komm süsser Tod, ” Part 2 of 2 Written by Kevin “Leeloo” Tan The Corp comes up with a plan, and decides to look out for its own interests first and foremost.

: “ Common Heroes, ” Part 1 of 4 Written by Greg “Sandman” Sands Set on January 28th, 2681. The 15th Confed Destroyer Squadron is dispatched to a rendezvous in Nephele, as ConFleet and Border Worlder ships alike gather to deal with the threat.

: “ Ribbon of Honour, ” Part 1 of 2 Written by Ray “Major Brancer” Trembley The TCS Yorktown (CV-54) and her battle group get the call as well, having a run-in with the fanatical Kilrathi Cult of Sivar faction along the way.

: “ Fate Beckons ” Written by Shaun “Iceman” Rashid The TCS Endeavour and Light Carrier Battle Group Aurora (CVEBG-A) are ordered to join the gathering Combined Fleet, under the command of Hanton.

: “ Storm Clouds, ” Part 1 of 2 Written by Rajan “Raptor” Ragupathy In late December, 2680, and early January, 2681, veteran military officers of the Union of Border Worlds, after a brief time of peace, unite to form the Battle Group Valkyrie (CVBG-V) in preparation for galactic aggression.

: “ Ashes to Ashes ” Written by Aaron Flokley The 8th Cruiser Squadron is ordered to join the fleet, enduring conflict not from the Aliens but from within the unit itself.

: “ Requiem des Garbes, ” Part 1 of 2 Written by Kevin “Leeloo” Tan The Tanfen Corp, again looking out for its best interests, recalls its forces to protect its bases and facilities. The Nephilim continue advancing... as a terrorist attack is waged.

: “ Requiem des Garbes, ” Part 2 of 2 Written by Kevin “Leeloo” Tan The terrorist attack is put down. The advancing Nephilim, however, rip through a Tanfen installation in the Hellespont System, butchering everyone on board.

: “ Storm Clouds, ” Part 2 of 2 Written by Rajan “Raptor” Ragupathy The TCS Yorktown and the BWS Valeria rendezvous in Loki, and then link up with the fleet gathering in Nephele. The Combined Fleet jumps into Tyr on the 2nd of February, 2681. The Nephilim jump in a short while later. The Tyr battle arc and Phase II starts at this point.
